Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Anxiety, Stress & Depression

CBT is a highly effective, structured approach for dealing with anxiety, depression, and stress. Through CBT, I teach you practical skills to help you challenge negative thought patterns and take control of your emotions. This isn’t just talking about your problems; it’s about building real, actionable tools that empower you to manage your mind and feel better in your daily life.

If you’re ready to break free from the cycle of anxiety and stress, CBT could be the right fit for you.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for Trauma & PTSD

Trauma doesn’t just fade away with time—it takes real, focused work to heal from the wounds of the past. Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is specifically designed for people recovering from trauma and PTSD. Using structured techniques, CPT helps you reprocess painful memories, challenge harmful beliefs, and reduce intrusive thoughts and emotional overwhelm.

With CPT, you can move past the trauma that’s holding you back and start feeling empowered in your life again.

    How long does therapy take?

Every person’s journey is unique, but research shows that Evidence-Based Therapy often helps people feel better faster. On average:

    • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) typically takes about 12 sessions to complete.
    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) generally requires 16-20 weekly sessions for most people.

Once you reach your treatment goals, you can either graduate from therapy or transition to maintenance therapy. In maintenance, we meet every other week or monthly, depending on your needs. This can continue for as long as you find it helpful.

What’s the difference between CBT and CPT?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is designed to help individuals manage anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues by changing how they think, feel, and behave. It’s been around for decades and is backed by thousands of clinical trials showing its effectiveness.

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a specific type of CBT that focuses on treating trauma and PTSD. While both therapies share foundational skills, CPT is more targeted, with techniques that are fine-tuned for addressing the unique challenges of trauma. In CPT, we leave out some of the broader CBT skills to focus more specifically on trauma recovery.

Can I do online therapy if I live outside of Massachusetts?

I am licensed to provide therapy in Massachusetts, Vermont, Virginia, and Illinois. You must physically be in one of these states during each therapy session for us to meet, due to licensing regulations.
